Solution description

Implemented and developed a user account management system, Identity Management (IdM). Managed hundreds of thousands of permission types for approximately 25,000 active users – university staff, students, lifelong learners and other clients. The solution is technically based on Oracle’s Waveset product and a range of other technologies. A key part of the solution is the KOS learning system. It keeps track of all the study agenda: timetable of classes, study results, exam schedule, scholarships and courses taught, etc. across all faculties. Currently, over 30,000 different roles and permissions are registered in the KOS system alone.
Jednotná správa uživatelů je naším dlouhodobým strategickým cílem. Identity management od společnosti IdStory nám pomohl dosáhnout jednoho z klíčových milníků.

  • The systemization of associated roles allows you to automatically add rights to a new user and, more importantly, remove rights from a former user

  • Rules for obtaining roles are set in accordance with the policy set out in the Rector’s order

  • Quarantines can be set up for various subsystems, which are system-wide extended periods of restricted access rights to deal with transition periods

  • All permissions are auditable within the IdM history, meaning that it is possible to find out what permissions a user had and why they received them
